The 2023 Cerasuolo d Abruzzo Superiore Terre Aquilane is delicate yet savory, with a burst of woodland berries and herbal tones offset by hints of smoke. It mixes ripe wild berry fruits and sweet spice with saline minerals and hints of sour citrus in a way that I find wildly attractive. The wine tapers off with tension, leaving a tart raspberry concentration and a gentle tug of fine tannins. This is fantastic, especially for the vintage.

Winery Notes

The Cerasuolo is either a light red or a dark rosè, depending on how one sees and feels it. It is intensely sappy, surprisingly rich, and has been known to age very well.
